Great find.
When making such a beast, it might be necessary to put in a bevel in the injector knotch in the cutout. With a thin gasket there is no issue. One would need to examine the both the head and manifold to see if the injector slot was in transtion or constant.
With such an spacer, then perhaps it would make sense to insulate the complete intake manfold and throttle body, instead of having it soak in the under hood temperatures.
Haynes shows it mounted with bolts. Longer bolts are always available.
There is a 'steady bar' which goes from the manifold to the block, to pick up some of the verical loads, so the complete intake system is less of a cantilever. I can't see that this would be too much of an issue.
