My primary reason for going the Jacobs route is the improved fuel economy, and smoother running. I'm not looking for the utmost performance. I may someday take my car up to Aero levels (225 HP), but I seriously doubt beyond that. Before going further, I'd probably want a newer car.

I am not sure if the early 9000s use the same distributor as the C900s, but it's certainly possible. What might concern me about another system over the Jacobs, is size. I have no room for anything bigger than what I just put in, if the BTM is a two box setup (as are Jacobs' high end systems), that's more work than I'm looking to do. Not counting changing the plugs, which you should do anyhow, the Jacobs can easily be hooked up in five minutes. Of course plugs don't take long to change either..

Don't know if I mentioned it, but I paid $250 for my Jacobs system, which included shipping and a set of their plug wires, which are very nice indeed. Certainly seems from a performance standpoint the MSD BTM is much better (or for that matter, even Jacobs' own higher end systems), but I don't make a habit of running my car up to the rev limiter! In fact, only time this has happened was when the damn accelerator pedal got stock on the floormat and I'd put the clutch in to shift, not realizing the pedal was stuck... or there was that time I had the automatic in 1st creeping up to a freeway onramp light, then forgot it wasn't in drive and floored it to get up to 60 mph...

Merry Christmas!

Aaron Gilbert
