Never have used an Autolite plug before, but hey, that is what Jacobs recommends for my car! All I can say, is that now my car is definitely running smoother and sustaining higher boost for longer than it ever has, using a $0.99 plug instead of the $4.50 plug I was using with the stock ignition! Works for me... :) And I haven't even found out what MPG improvement I may achieve, yet.. The gap I am running is 0.035", up from 0.025" stock.
As to the reliability, a coworker of mine has been using the Jacobs systems on both of his vehicles for some time now, and claims he has really seen and noticed all the claims that Jacobs makes, including the 10%+ fuel economy increase. This fellow is really skeptical when it comes to the almost snake-oil like things that Jacobs claims, but he's been convinced. In fact Dr. Jacobs has written an entire book on automotive ignitions, it's quite an interesting read, and not something that I'd ever found before. Not that I had really looked. :)
Sure hope it lasts in my car! If it ever dies though, it's a simple task of moving one wire to get back to the stock arrangement.. that reminds me, just what is the warranty on these things? Guess I should look it up..
Cheers,
Aaron
