Capacitors are worthless. Capacitors are not like batteries in that as their charge is used, the output voltage drops. The following equation applies:
C = Q / V
C is capacitance in Farads
Q is the charge in Coulombs
V is the output voltage in Volts
Capacitors don't hold much charge to begin with, so the fact that you can only use a small ammount of their charge before the voltage drops to an unusable number only makes it worse.
You'd be better off getting a larger battery, or even better, a higher output alternator. Higher output alternators don't put a bigger load on the engine unless the alternator itself is put under load by your stereo (or whatever other power-mongers you might have on your electrical system). Another option is to get your alternator coils rewound. I've heard of this giving as much as an extra 50 Amps.
Can the Focal really handle that much power, by the way? You might want to keep an eye on the heat levels of the voice coils. Those JBL's are brutal. =)
Anyway, good luck with your system!
