Very, very nice system Bill! I've been out of car stereo for a while, but my last system consisted of a Clarion 9255 (dual 20-bit DAC) deck, 75x2 PhazeAudio TubeDriver amp (yes, vacuum tubes) for the front MBQuart 2-ways, ESX Quantum 1204 amp that supplied somewhere around 600 watts to my A/D/S 310rs. I really miss that system sometimes! It sounds like yours is of similar quality. I really love the Focal products, and considered replacing the Quarts with a set several times.
But back to your question. Caps are really just bandaids. If your average power consumption exceeds your alternator's capability, they can't help. Neither can a more powerful battery, if the battery is providing any current to the electrical system while the car's running, you will have problems with dead batteries down the road. Overworking the alternator can eventually damage it too. The only thing caps can do is keep the electrical system at a constant voltage to compensate for momentary current draws above the capacity of the alternator.
A good way to check, though: At night turn on a song with a good amount of bass in it while the car's running. Turn it up a little louder than you can stand, and get out of the car. Watch the headlights. If they dim significantly when the bass hits hard, you should probably get a cap. If they stay dim most of the time and get brighter when the song stops, you're exceeding the capacity of the charging system. You might also want to turn on the rear defroster and repeat the procedure. This (along with the power windows) is the major accessory drain.
I really doubt you'll have any significant problems, however. So, spend the money on the cap if you want, but it's not the end of the world if you don't get one.
If I were you, I'd try wiring your voice coils in series. You might find that you get as much volume as you'll ever need at 8 ohms, which will lower your THD and prolong the life of the amp. I always ran my A/D/S in series and did measure around 135dB at one time.
By the way, what's the volume on your box? It's sealed , right?
