i work with high speed digital design and we use caps between the power supply and ground all the time to remove the power supply "noise" from entering the circuit. In AC, a cap is theorized as a short circuit and in DC, a cap is an open circuit. In a car where everything is 12v DC, you can put a large cap across the battery and it will not change any of the DC characteristics but will short out all AC noise from the alterator. Using caps for your amps won't help power draw, but will keep the noise from the alternator from entering the amps input. I assume most high end amps have this built in.
