Well, i was so disgruntled about my low numbers the other night that today i readjusted my mbc, went for some test runs and then went to re-dyno.
Bad idea, apparently.
I suppose i must've done something bad to a Saab in a previous life or whatever. Got the sucker up on the dyno, car is tied down and it's ready to rock. Get the thing into third and it's go time- i stomp the pedal and watch the rpms rise. I let of the throttle at 6200rpm, the blowoff valve goes "pssssssssssshhhhhhhht!" and......................COOLANT SPRAYS EVERYWHERE!
Managed to blow a hole in the coolant line between the engine and the heater core. For crying out loud. At this point i'm thinking "Well, at least i got a full pull in! I should have good numbers this time.". Uh, no. I ask Dave the Dyno Dude what my numbers were and he says "Boy, you must be really good with that throttle, 'cause they're exactly the same as last time.". Hahahaha. Dear god, that was a kick in the privates.
So, there MUST be something wrong with my car. There's no way that my car should be making 152 hp when it's running quite a bit more boost and is modified like it is. That's just wrong. Anyway, back to the drawing board for me. I'm gonna have that sucker checked out.
