Considering a Sonett, but....

I have the opportunity to pick up a 1970 Sonett III but I am concerned about the cost of ownership. I am by no means a mechanic, but I can find my way around an engine. I am also holding back because the original owner removed the A/C and I will be moving back to Louisiana next year. How hard is it to reinstall an A/C? I think these cars are great--just having trouble taking the plunge!
