Roger sed: "however, it's really scary to drive on the city hiway because i don't think anyone can see me with its low profile. if your choice is going to be car shows and a fun backroad vehicle, there's no comparison: get a sonett. if you need a driver, the back seat (AND TRUNK) in the 96 make it a real car."
All of which are points well taken (for the city-traffic visibility problem, try a bike flag -- or just keep your foot down and make the problem disappear in your rear-view mirror!)
One practicality point, though: Roger says he has a Sonett V4 -- very cool, with great "vintage" looks and easy-access flip nose, but cargo hauling is a nuisance because the only way to reach the "trunk" is over the back of the passenger seat. If you want a Sonett for more frequent driving or touring, a Sonett III is a better bet as it has a "hatchback" rear window. You can easily carry a week's supply of groceries or two people's luggage for a long weekend trip in the back of a Sonett III. For that matter, if the weather's good and you've got a #4 Phillips screwdriver handy, you can take out the glass in a few seconds and convert it to the world's smallest mini-pickup!
