rear axle squared

I noticed extreme uneven tire wear on the rear of my 74 so I ran a string around all four tires, and the left rear is about a half inch turned in at the front portion of the rear tire causing the tire to wear the outside much more than the inside. The right rear is the same way but not as bad. Is there any way to adjust the rear axle to be square? Thanks David
