My 1.7L now has a 43mm Holley carb, bigger valves, ported heads and manifolds, header, K&N air filter, high energy spark, and a 3/4 race cam. What I have found with the cam is the power has increased at all rpm's, but doesn't really come "on" until over 4000rpm's. Over 4000 the motor just wants to rev until ?. The power is great.... but at a cost. Getting the jetting right has been difficult and drivability at 2000-2500rpm's has been affected. A full race cam will develope more horsepower but at an even higher rpm. So unless you intend to be in the 5000-6500 rpm range for normal driving the cam may not amount to much except for the freeway ramp or cruising at 8omph. I have actually bitten the bullet and taken out the 3/4race cam and put in a HP street cam. That way I will get horsepower at a more usable rpm for my driving and still have the "kick" for passing and cruising. A final note: the 3/4 cam (and especially the race cam) won't do didly unless the motor breathes really, really well. Happy Holidays to all V-Saabers
