An OPINION is exactly that. As for the statistics and reliability ratings, where did you get yours? BTW, how many Audis have you actually owned? I'll ask the same of Saabs (not challenging you, just curious).
I think you've missed part of my point. I used the 'underside of the hood' as an example of the attention to detail that Audi incorporates into their products. I was also comparing apples to apples, i.e. comparing a 2005 9-3 Aero to a 2005 Audi A4, certainly NOT comparing my '95 900 SET to the Audi.
Again, folks, these are OPINIONS. What you look for in a car is entirely different than what someone else may. Wasn't the end of my VERY FIRST sentence: "drive it and see what you think?" Obviously, 'La_strada' will make up his/her own mind.
As for AWD. Have you experienced Quattro? The value and capability that it adds to the vehicle is well worth the added cost if living in a wintery climate. Even the WORST ice I've driven in felt like nearly dry pavement in the Audi Quattros. No traction problems whatsoever. FAR superior to any of my Saabs (or any of the other 19 Saabs in my family, for that matter). No need for snow tires.
Lighten up, pal. Drop the insults (I like my old clunker regardless of what you may 'arguably' think), allow people to have their own opinion and show a little respect. After all, that's what was solicited here.
