Wayne,
I must disagree.

First, if your desire to purchase a SAAB is so easily dissuaded by the few negative posts that you read on this board, perhaps you should purchase something else.

Second, I've read more good than bad on this board. It is true that there are a few "rants", but not very many. I take the fact that GM has not shut the board down for use of their trademark, "SAAB", as a positive. You know, there was a VW parts distributor in CO that went out of business in part becuase of copyright infringement. I doubt is this board is high on the list of reasons people buy or don't buy SAABs, but ask someone like Mike L, he's in the sales business. He can answer better to the "why" question.

This is a problem solving board, so the posts tend to be written towards, "I have a problem, my car won't ....", I need help.

Also, this board stands as a testiment to the many owners that have learned to repair some of the quirky problems and care enough to share with new owners.

The board also serves a purpose of advertising sales, repair shops and some parts suppliers plus some other things that I am probably unaware.

As far as Consurmers Report, they often have their own agenda.

I think some folks have a legitiment right to be disappointed with their car. It doesn't mean the rest of us have to sell ours or not buy another. If nothing else, they may be able to post their frustration (within limits) and perhaps be educated about the cost of ownership.

Waving the SAAB banner shouldn't be a prerequisite to posting on this board. Everyone has an opinion, don't get so bent out of shape if our opinions differ, that's what makes life interesting. Imagine how boring is we all agreed.

By the way, I think their great cars, but their not for everyone.
