Having had 99s and 900s with solid rear axles I am familiar with rear wheel hop. I had no such occurrence with the 9-5. The 9-5 was Saab's first excursion into independent rear suspension so their lack of experience in that arena may have contributed to the problem.
When pulling the trailer it was probably around 2400 lbs and the trunk in the car was usually full including my wife's handicapped scooter. I did work hard on maintaining 165 lb tongue weight. As you saw in the picture we also carried our kayaks. Here is what it looked like while we were camping at the SOC in Vero Beach, Florida.
