What 9-5 could use is AWD and CVT.
Why? CVT's are still in their very early development stages; FWD with decent tires is easily as good as AWD in the snow.
I think a diesel Saab may be a good advancement. Mercedes is already planning to introduce its E-Class with a diesel, and it loks a if VW will offer a diesel in its upcoming Passat. And a Focus CDTi.
Dielsel is going to be, over the next few years, the fastest growing segment of automobiles: low sulfur fuel available in '06 (at the latest), and power that will leave an Aero on the highway like there is no tomorrow. And imagine 45 mpg in a 9-5!!! Lets not watch Saab get left behind by its competitors, and, for once, get an excellent GM powerplant over here!!
