Changing my first 9-5 engine due to sludge problems

It's a 1999 with the 4cyl LPT and 45K miles on the odometer.
The engine is completely "caked up" and no oil pressure.
No records were found in the car to see if any oil changes had been done in those 45K miles. I think the customer picked up the car at an auction, and it might have been a lease return that no one wanted to sell and shipped it to the auction instead.
We started with running a couple of engine flush treatment through (just to check how good those flush machines are). That didn't help. A tremendous amount of chrystalized oil came out during the flushes, but it didn't clean out the oil pick up screen.
After that I sprayed several cans of brake cleaner in through the drain hole and at the same time pooking around with a coat hanger. Another load of crystals and goo came out, but no oil pressure.
At the same time a plastice piece also came out through the drain, and I could see that it was a piece of the timing chain guide. The turbo unit is also frozen.
Then we stopped trying to revive the engine and got the customer to agree on a used engine instead.
