The engine flush machine (and my futile attempts with brake cleaner) hadn't cleaned out ANYTHING of all the crude that was in there. I could scope about a full cup of oil sludge, pieces of bearing material and more balance chain pieces.
Front balance sprocket had come off at some point and time, ripped the plastic guides to pieces, knocked holes in the timing cover between sump and pump (that's one reason I couldn't get oil pressure) and broken the balance chain.
Timing chain had stayed in it's position even though the guides was broken, so it was still possible to run the engine in car.
Pickup screen is solid clogged.
I'm glad I didn't get the oil pressure up in the first place, because this engine wouldn't have lasted more than down the road.
