The v6 engine of the 9000 and the 9-5 it is the same. The 9-5 engine it has new rods, pistons, cranksafts and other components to reduce the internal frictions and to become more strong and capable to the performance of the turbo. The base of the engine it is the same a opel 2962cc block, modified and performed by Saab.
About the new 9-5, I wait when Saab will use the SCC, and also the SVC, it could be with the new generation of the 9-5, that is going to launch in 2005-6. Also it has many possibilities to launch a V8, look at the projects of GM, and one of them is the new V8 engine, that has a 9-5, and will come with a new AWD system. Last year Saab give a contract to make the AWD cars to Haldex.
