I think you will find that if you measure the thickness of the rotor you will find that they are under the thickness allowed for rotors after the first brake job(new 25mm first brake job 23.5mm minimum is 22mm) if you push it too far you rotors may come apart. We do about 10 to 15 front brake jobs on 9-5's a week and only once in a blue moon does one come in that doesn't need new rotors. Before anyone jumps in and says that their local brake guys did theirs and they didn't need new rotors bear in mind that the printed number on the rotor(22mm minimim thickness) is the MINIMUM thickness. If you cut your rotors to 22.5mm and then put new pads on them you will lose an average of 2mm per set of pads and your rotors will be at 20.5mm. If you think that there is a huge safety margin and you don't have to pay attention here the rotors can and will fail, I have seen it.
