Yeah, it probably was a non-turbo they based it on Posted by RS [Email] (#15) [Profile/Gallery] (more from RS) on Sat, 8 Jun 2002 17:21:13 In Reply to: Re: *#$&*#$ Clutch pressure plate, gorper, Sat, 8 Jun 2002 16:56:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to rest a few minutes more then work on pounding the wire in a bit farther to see if that helps.
If I can't get it settled by tomorrow night, it looks like it's rental car land for a few days while a new clutch kit is in transit.
The reason I'm getting into the project is that the either the throwout bearing or pilot bearing is chattering, so I wanted to replace them and do the seals.
When the primary seal on my '88 900S was leaking, the slave cylinder came out so easily. I remember reading here that there are 2 styles of slave cylinder. The one I have in my '89 looks different than the ones in the parts books and online catalogs, so I may have to get that clutch kit anyway.
I especialy appreciate those last 3 tips, 'cause I hadn't thought that far ahead yet :-)
I'm at the stage that I can't even sew it back together because I blew out the back seal in the slave cylinder and it won't go back into its machined recess.
We all learn from our mistakes ... by getting a bunch of them out of the way, it makes room for a whole new population of mistakes to enter the queue.
Thanks, Hans.
