I did my first clutch recently. The slave was shot on mine, so in order to compress the fingers enough to get the tool in, I pried on the back of the slave cylinder with a big MF screwdriver. After spacer was in and all bolts removed, I ended up using 2 big MF screwdrivers to pry the whole thing out the passenger side. I didn't care if I ruined the parts, cause I had al the new parts.
For some reason, the new assembly went in without any problems through the driver's side
