I haven't found a good trick for taking the clutch cover off. The last time I took the one off my car, I probably said something unkind about the person that showhorned it all in there.
The tube that runs under the intake manifold runners and spears into the plastic turbo inlet duct is a combination PCV and throttle body heating water tube. The heating water line is concentric with the tube and goes off to the throttle body from the metal part of the assembly that spears into the duct. That's the thing that was in the way of easily taking the clutch cover off.
I'm pretty sure that the fuel injection harness running to the injectors, etc is identical to the N/A LH 2.2 FI harness for '85, or at least close enough for jazz. The other harness, which goes through the fuesbox is different.
The connectors that you have zip-tied on your '88 harness are also unused on the other US-spec models - cold-start injector and something else that escapes my memory right now.
Man, it has to be cold to work on a car up there.
We're having what many Georgians think is a blizzard right now. The rest of the country refers to the condition as "snow flurries". Makes me feel right at home.
