and i'd recommend (if you have space) just pull all the good parts off that parts car and store them somewhere.
the right car will come along (or else just keep your eyes peeled for another 85 in better shape body-wise that needs turbo and engine stuff).

in the meantime consider taking that tranny in the 85 apart a la twinsaabs and see if there are any good gears and synchro rings in it. certainly dont drive it any more as pinion failure will ruin 3rd and 4th gears i was told). Tranny gears are extremely expensive to buy so a wrecked tranny can be worth gold down the road when you need to rebuild one.
to go thru the exercise of transplanting the turbo in to the 88 would be a tremendous waste of time - Saab made more 85's than the one you have, so find the right one and save your self the mental and physical hassle and stress. When you find it, you can work on it and still have your 88 as daily driver!
