My '93 900TC was spewing oil and smoke (oil vapor?) from the top of the oil filler tube directly below the cap attached to the dipstick. Once I replaced that small check valve (which was shot since it allowed air to travel in both directions), those conditions disappeared and have not had them return since. Direct cause of the crankcase being pressurized?
Though not a pressurization situation, but my '98 9000CSET was experiencing low- to no- boost as a result of that same valve being shot. Once I replaced it, max boost returned.
