i'll endeavour to compose my thoughts tonight and summarize tomorrow.
suffice to say for now that i have not run a car in this configuration yet as i was contemplating it for a project car that i would only run in warm weather.
You should study the various paths and hoses that coolant follows so that you know how eliminating one hose will affect things. The turbo cars are rather complex, with the PCV line going to the turbo, etc.
also, the 16v upper heater hoses (turbo and non) have the small offshoot lines which have to be dealt with. I believe an 8v upper heater hose can eliminate those offshoot lines if you plan to eliminate the TB coolant pathway.
