in my opinion as a very experienced aircraft mechanic and cars also, the coolant is for cooling the engine. However it is used to heat the throttle body to prevent possible ice issues. Do you not think that the air velocity going thru the engine at Any speed would not keep it cool? How can 180 degree coolant make it cooler. I bet U are one of the ppl that think oil is for lubrication. Its a secondary byproduct. Primary for engine oil is to remove heat from friction caused by two metal surfaces rubbing each other. Don't feel too bad, I didnt know either and after research agree that it is in fact to remove heat primarily. NOW...done ranting. LOL. Now again, the removal of the lines is only to prevent one area of leakage in the maze of hoses Saab has on these cars.
