I think it's the CV joint that's stuck in the hub

I went ahead & pulled the shaft out of the car, then released the circlip that holds the shaft into the CV joint. I left the tripod bearing on the shaft & set the shaft aside for now.
Then I took the bearings & cage out of the CVJ cup & cleaned everything up. So now I've got the hub/CVJ cup assembly on wood blocks, & I'm soaking the hub/spindle splines with alternating applications of PBlaster & Liquid Wrench.
