Put the lower ball joint back on and turn the spindle nut around backwards and screw it on flush with the edge of the spindle shaft. Go buy a small "dead blow hammer." Its made of hard rubber/plastic compound and is hollow in the middle with ball bearing it the center to get total force when an object is hit The problem sound like it was installed with loctite on the inner 4mm of the spline end of the shaft. It will be too hard to heat it with-out melting the grease in the hub bearing. Hey! I know its been a pain in the %&**&# But, since you already got the axle out, try to reassemble the axle with the new boots. Just remember to snap the 'C' clip back in. Fill the C/V joint and tri-pod but, don't load-up the boot. I know you can do it either way. Good Luck!!!
