So yesterday my '88 900 convertible overheated and died on a stretch of highway I just couldn't get off of in time and I got it towed by the closest place I could find.
They said my radiator fan went out and that now my heater core is shot from the overheating. I asked him if it was the valve and he said it was "the whole unit". And wants $900 to repair. I've got someone helping me to find parts, but I think that I should be able to find some better rates?
What would be reasonable for this repair? And I know I am eventually going to need a new transmission as 75% of the time, when I put it in reverse I can no longer shift into any gear, so far putting it in neutral and rolling it forward about a foot has helped me get around this, but sometimes in NYC with the constant parallel parking this isn't an option...
Ok, I just wanted to introduce myself as part of the Saab family.
Thanks.
Amelia
