From memory the pesky Clutch master cyl is not an overly sophisticated design.
Most Master cyls have an anti reversion setup that holds some residual pressure in the system (keeps pads from retracting more than absolutely necessary) thereby not making the intial pedal stroke into a 'first time' event.. every time. Having said that It doesn't help you much :-)
Likely your actual Clutch bits are crap.. As mentioned :-)
For reasons unknown they are not sliding back along the input shaft splines towards the throwout bearing enough to almost eliminate the distance between P Plate fingers and the throwout bearing. Each new clutch pedal stroke has to eliminate that empty distance before reaching the P plate. Ergo: Foot to the floor clutch dis-engagement.
Recycling old mostly worn out clutch parts is always risky :-)
