... but a bit vague on many other points. Yes, the electrical section carries "typical" wiring diagrams and the auto tranny part tells you how to change the fluid and the driveshaft seals, although it does throw in the word "hydrokinetic" rather impressively.
Systems such as ABS and TCS are mentioned and their operation is described, but the advice is generally along the lines of "if it goes wrong, take it to a dealer".
The best stuff is the stuff that is common to all 9000s. This makes me think that while they only had one or two project cars, they didn't bother to do any further research.
This is a pity - in my Mini days, I bought the two Haynes manuals covering the Mini '59-'68 and '69-'83. These are incredibly detailed and carry the spec for every possible variant. There are pages of ignition timing specs, with distributor part numbers to help identify which setting is needed for a particular car.
I rebuilt a Mini engine and gearbox (more than once) by following Haynes religiously.
While in this respect, the Haynes 9000 manual has been a disappointment, I have still found it indispensible for working on the 9000. Deviations from the manual are usually obvious, and a lot of the 9000 has never changed through the lifetime of the model. Electrics are probably the area which has been most fluid.
