...subject to atmospheric conditions - on warm high presure days, boost is logically down on wet day boost, and I don't get quite the exagerated fluctuating boost. I am more prone to fuel cut if the car is heavy (passengers) and accelerating hard in 3rd 4th or 5th - particularly from lower revs, rather than flooring it higher in the rev range.
Still seems a bit spooky that it only started happening after I started using Optimax - can the subsequent ignition advance on the higher grade fuel have given more boost than the fuel cut point?
I am learning to live with it rather than try and fix - just a shame that I can't use full throttle very often, unless I am, for example, thrashing the pants off the car through the Milton Keynes roundabouts, and then mysteriously I don't seem to get fuel cut.
