I agree with most of the posts here. I have to disagree with Ari, but
this is a completely subjective thing: Aero vs. CSE. I feel the Aero
will give the most bang for the buck. The seats cannot be taken that
lightly - neither can the TD04 Mitsu.
Somehow, I have the feeling that '93 was the year that the full
marriage was consumated - after all, GM held the patent on the
name 'Aero'. I couldn't see them giving it up unless they knew Saab
was soon to be theirs!
If it appears to be in 'great' condition, then the price probably isn't
that much of an issue - even Saabs' in great condition don't hold
much of their original value. Around here, a '94 w/130k in great
condition will bring about $3500 at an auction. Private sale, you
could probably get as much as $9000. A good friend, Gripen, just
within the past few weeks, bought a 97 CSE w/34k miles (the
interior looked like it was never sat-in ) for only $9k. That should
give a pretty good indication of what a '94 w/130k should command.
And the '94 wont have the HK audio. But if the body is really great,
you should put the car on a lift and carefully inspect everything
underneath the vehicle. If it still looks great, buy it. Engine and
transaxle are easy to rectify, if they need work. Just figure a couple
grand contingency going in. A used engine/transaxle combo can
be usually 'liberated' from the salvage yards for around $2k.
