I have to say that, like Bob, I disagree too. The Aero package of seats, extra power and suspension tuning may well not have been worth the price premium when new, but in used Aeros the prmium usually isn't that much. It's a great package, and all the elements work well together. Your general premise seems to be that the 91/92 turbo is at least as good a bet and better in some ways. Mmmmm, maybe in some small ways, but the two points of disagreement I have are 1) most 91/92 9K's are getting long in the tooth by now and 2) the 93 redesign was a lot more than cosmetic; the redesign gives a much tighter, quieter, more refined car. And the 94 transmission redesign is monumentally better than the earlier 5-speed. Also, in 94 the AMM was replaced with a MAP; the MAP is much simpler, sturdier and more reliable. And if you want to upgrade the power even more, there's an awful lot more available for the Trionic cars. The one point in favor of a CSE is that your chance of finding one that hasn't been abused is greater than for Aeros. You could perhaps put SAS sway bars and a stage 3 Maptun power upgrade on a CSE and have a lot more car than comparable money for an Aero. And the seats would fold more easily, too!
