high, but then I assumed you already had the timing cover off to replace the timing chain. The sprockets and chains weren't that expensive when my mechanic did this last winter...nowhere near 500. I would have to dig out the bill to tell for sure, but I think the parts were $140 or less, gears were fine, chain, spocket and guide were replaced With the timing cover off the labor was nearly nothing.

I had the head removed to replace a gasket, only to realize my timing chain cover was cracked and that was the reason my front end had been leaking oil. The cover had to come off and be replaced, so purely out of preventative measures I had the timing chain replaced and had the sprockets replaced as well. and yes the sprocket only had about 1/2 of their teeth.

Like I said, I have never driven one without and I can't imagine the engine design engineer simply put the balance shafts in for asthetic reasons. If the word is that the vibration difference isn't noticeable, I say show me with someone elses car first so I can believe it. If you have driven both or can trust because someone you know has, then go for it.

PS: I bought the sport suspension package for my car too.
