I just recently purchased my 5th 9000 after a lapse of at least 5-6 years without one. I love my Saab's just as much as I love any BMW or many other car. One of the things that I did just learn from an ex-Saab mechanic is that Saab itself does not like their 6 cylinder vehicles or their automatics. This is a point that should be mentioned. The fact that it has already been mentioned many times in this one post that Saab makes a terrible automatic is definitely something to keep in mind if you purchase this car.

I've had two 9000 automatics one of which was a turbo. I found the non-turbo to be the worst vehicle I ever owner and too slow to match. If I wanted to get on a parkway I would always have to wait for an extremely large gap. Needless to say when I got the title back for the car I got rid of it. The turbo charged automatic was a little bit better but the fact is I would never buy another Saab automatic. Both of these two vehicles, along with a few other 900's & 9000's that I've owned did give me tranny problems. My wife doesn't drive a stik so unfortunately she cannot drive my present CSE.

If your daughter can only drive an automatic, in my opinion, you should look into something like an Acura or Honda.
