usually based in facts even if marginal. kids get in more acidents than adult, fact. therefor less temtation (less power) will equate to lessor accidents. i still think front wheel drives (with understeering as RR points out) gets kids in more trouble than old rearwheel drive cars...
yes many of the younger set may post on here telling of there incredible records and taking tests in the Aeros, but the fact is (generalization based on statistical fact) kids are poorer skills in adverse situations and parents that give kids new turbos are just not thinking...if money is no object than who cares, but a saab will not protect everyone. parents that late 17 year old kids buy new GT mustangs and saab turbos are not practical...
i'd say 51% of all kids wreck in their first 16 months of driving, so give them a 'beater" until they get their "fender bender" out of the way!!
