Is this your guess or is that fact? I've been driving well well well over 16 months and no accident yet. And I'll bet I can handle a car as well as many "adult" drivers. I've handled spin-outs in snow, I've slid sideways down icy hills and regained control, I've had to do crazy maneuvers to avoid a-holes who can't drive in the snow. And most of the time, many adults in my area can't do any of that, and so I'm always seeing accidents when the weather is bad, which is basically all winter.
Really, what does it matter if the car is fast or not. Even crappy Kias and Hyndais can reach speeds of over 100mph. What does it matter how much time it takes to get to that speed? If I had gotten a NA 9000, its the same car/same engine as my turbo 9000, but it's just slower to reach high speeds. But it can easily do it.
You say parents that give their kids new turbos are not thinking. That's not true. My parents were thinking when they got me a turbo. Ever think that its dangerous to have a car that can't safely merge onto a highway and easily keep up with highway speeds and have the ability to pass if needed?
Yes, some kids do definitely suck at driving, but so do many "adults."And I hate when people generalize when its not always true. I agree that sometimes it is, but its not usually the case.
