I run dirt cheap 5W30 conventional oil, and a Wix filter, changing ever 3000 on the money. Been doing it for 15 years on every possible make and model of car from V8 muscle cars to turbo'd 4 and 6 cylinders, hondas, trucks, Saabs...you name it. Never had any kind of failure of any oiled part on any motor, ever. No bearing failures, no turbo failures, no sludge. I personally believe that the synthetics and what not ARE better oils, hands down, but I equally believe that on any vehicle that's maintained, you can run any oil you want as long as you change it often and run a good filter.
