I noticed something has changed with Castrol the last year or so. Always use 10W-30 since years ago when GM did not recommend 10W-40 because the base stock was diluted too much with additives.
Lately when draining the Castrol it has a red tint to it, and bubbles remaining on the surface of the drained oil. Can only assume this is a result of government mandated reformulation. Anyone know what causes the red tint?
Also going to try some diesel oil for the zinc and other wear additives.
