and there is a tool to do this, of course! I think you could approximate the tool with some sockets. The tool pulls, not pushes, the bushing by pushing on the metal sleeve in the center. If you've had that bushing in your hand you know the rubber and the metal sleeve are bonded, so by pushing on the sleeve (only!) and not the rubber, actually pulling through from the other side, it strechings the bushing and makes it strech through.
So, I would think that a long all thread bolt and a socket that rests on the sleeve with a setup on the other side of a tube that spans the ARB hole were the bushing goes, and that tube capped off with a socket to keep the bolt centered as it comes out would pull it through. Clear as mud?
Also, I like to use go-jo hand cleaner to lube this kind of work. Use the slimy stuff, not the orange or orange with grit in it. It cleans and it also wipes off and the remaninder evaporates!
