I've owned 3 Fords, 3 Saabs and many other makes and models since I started driving 11 years ago.
My first was a '78 Mustang V6 Auto. Piece of crap but got me from point A to B on a regular basis. Lots of R&R to keep it up, everywhere.
My second was a '73 Gran Torino, 302 V8. I stuck more money into tires and gas than anything else. It was a great car and the only thing I ever had to replace in a year and a half was the master cylinder.
Third was a '94 Probe GTS 2.5 V6. It had serious problems. One coil pack went at 40,XXX miles costing the warranty company upwards of $800. The plug wires alone were $225. Shortly after that one of the rear calipers froze up. That was $500 trip to the dealer with a glowing rotor.
Look at the average late '80's Taurus/Tempo and tell me they are as rust free as any Saab 900/9000.
My Probe was fun but I like my '91 Turbo much_much better.
