I think most places stopped carrying LM oils because they've become too expensive due to dollar/euro exchange rate. LM 5W-40 I bought for $25/5l about 2 years ago. Now it costs $38.50?! The LM 0W-40 I bought on huge sale for $10/5l. The non-synthetic LM 10W-40 is sold for $26+/5l, which is ridiculous for non-synthetic oil, even German-made. I wonder how Castrol is able to sell German-made Syntec 0W-30 for $4.50/qt retail...?
In my experience, LM 5W-40 is vastly superior to their 0W-40, at least in SAAB engines. My oil analysis has confirmed my subjective evaluation. To the point that I've now shortened my change interval from 10k miles to 8k miles while I use up my stock of LM 0W-40.
