Sir Dean has a very good post on the waterpump R&R. Print it out and read it thoroughly.
If you have ramps, floor jack, jackstands, and a decent set of tools you can do this. I would suggest to clean the engine before going after the waterpump as the pump is low on the engine block. Since you will have to remove the airbox, air hose and serp belt to do the waterpump, it is also an excellent time to replace that pulley and add the short belt, if you are going to increase boost with a MBC, it is also a good time to get a K&N air filter or similar. You can also do a coolant change since you will have to drain the coolant for the water pump replacement. I say water pump replacement as it is wise to replace the pump when you do the o-rings so you wont be back there again fixing that later. Also a good time to replace the thermostat.
Hardest thing is wrestling with those metal tubes that route coolant to the intake manifold. I find it best to have the front end elevated as you will be bending down a lot and will get a sore back. Plan on a day for this if it is your first time. You will save $300 - 400 in labor and will get to know your car better. Eeuroparts is a good source of supplies.
