Also, all strokes to sop up rinse water whether with a California water blade, a towell, or a synthetic drier (apparently chamois are prone to grits and I find them too streaky anyway) should be done in straight lines to avoid swirl.
If the car is waxed, and you run no-nozzle hose water across the high-wax finish, the water falls off in huge gobs anyway, leaving a lot less to dry off.
