You can't get the old bolts.
If the gasket is too far gone from fluid leaks, a retorque might not be the complete solution, but often is. One or two stories about a troublesome situation do not make a universal truth. And someone may have done something wrong when the bolts failed.
Folks are taking the 2.3L 9-5 Aero engine to 300HP or more on the stock head bolts. These are standing up ok. These are a thick bolt compared to what many other engines are running. So they are relatively stiff, even though they are reduced and are close to being fully threaded.
It is really sick when engines are shipped with head bolts not torqued right. Those and the bottom end bolts are what make the engine.
