As of recently it had to be visible oil/coolant leaks. Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: How do you get Saab to perform retorque under warr.??, perkj, Thu, 23 Dec 2004 15:00:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
But that could very well change as it sometimes do when enough of complaints has come in.
It is a lot of politics involved on corporate levels.
Usually the first step is to deny any existance of a problem, then they slowly might come out with a service bulletin were they do it for free if the car is still under warranty. The next step might be to include cars where the warranty is over but only to the most vocal customers, and it's called goodwill repairs.
Some car manufacturers really step up to the plate and do good. I think it was Toyota or Honda that had some engine problems and they extended the warranty to 100K miles on the engine and people that had that particular repair done earlier was reimbursed if they could show receipts for the repair even if it was done by an independant shop.
Saab is such a small brand and it is difficult to get any clout from the owners because of the limited amount of people.
That group of owners are also made smaller since most people accept what the dealer tells them and pay for the repairs.
It is only a small group left that is militant enough and raise the voice on boards like this. That group is also made smaller since some of them get the repair for free as a goodwill.
