With your miles, I would take the initiative to replace them soon. It is cheap insurance and can save you hundreds of dollars in repairs/towing charges, not to mention the inconveinience. The two pulleys are around 26.00 each (Eeuroparts.com). A friend of mine ignored his and it cost him over $800 as a result (engine overheated and blew a head gasket). The sound you are hearing is a breif warning prior to failure. Not difficult to replace.

Remove airbox and associated plumbing (10mm wrench/socket and a screwdriver). you will need a drill bit to hold the tensioner back and a 1/2" long socket extension works well for leverage to pull the tensioner back, a flashlight, a long 13mm wrench, and a flex claw type retrival tool for when/if you drop the bolt and washer down into the plastic panel beneath the engine. Do not even think about installing the torx screw that comes with the new pulley, use the old bolt. Beer and a half, unless you attempt using the new torx screw in which case you better count on a six pack.
