that is how a microwave oven work as you alluded to.
When I said "cummulative effect" from microwave radiation, I wasn't referring to the radiological type of cummulative effect. Maybe I should have used frequency of use instead.
If (I use "IF" here as I don't claim to be in the know, just making educated guesses), so "if" cellphone microwave radiation does have some effect at the cellular level, then the cells would try to repair themselves after such damage, however, if the damage is frequent enough, there could be permanent damage at the cellular level and molecular level. Thus, such damage could be viewed as cummulative.
No, I don't think anyone has definitive proof but I would think if you put a powerful enough microwave source next to some living tissues, I am sure there will be damage at the cellular level. This is not unlike feeding mice with massive dose of a chemical and then find the mice have developed cancerous cells. The question is how high or low the dosage should be or how long or frequent should the exposure be to remain "reasonably" safe.
