As stated by others before me, the clock does not start until you break the light beam (the same beam of light you use to stage up).
As stated by the announcer (pickle man) at the track where I was running Friday night: any RT of .500 or below would automatically trip the red light. Perhaps the RT's you speak of are with that .500 removed (so mine would be .12, as good if not better than your "pros" driving Hondas) Sorry, I can't stop laughing that you think someone driving a Honda is a pro, also. I have seen "pro" Honda racers, with super lightened and tweaked Civics running sub - 11s 1/4 mi's. Those are pros. Anyway, if that is the case, that the .5 is subtracted from your RT, then your RT at MY track would be 1.1 seconds (which would suck big time)
As stated by others, your RT has NOTHING to do with your 1/4 mi. time. The RT is a measure to see how well you did against the car next to you, or against others at the track.
I did NOT subtract my RT from my 1/4 mi time! The time I posted is how long it took me to get from the point where my car crossed the light beam to another 1/4 mi away. I refuse to believe that anyone on earth can make a stock OG 900 turbo do better than 16s in a 1/4 mi. Car and Driver sure did not do it when the cars came out BRAND NEW (and they cheat by jacking up the car, gassing it, and dropping it onto the pavement)
I will post my time slip print out on the net soon. Show me yours!
I also installed my "Ram Air" system last night. Not really ram air, just a NACA duct fixed onto the frame between the skidplate and the frame with a duct feeding cold air onto the open K&N air filter. (pictures to follow) I added about 1 PSI of boost, it seems. I do still need a new turbo for my car. That will go in this week, hopefully.
